Budgets
and Managing Money
For managers in today’s
business world, it’s
essential to have a working knowledge of finance. We all
play a role in our organization’s finances, whether we
realize it or not. For those who don’t have training or a
background in finances, you may be at a disadvantage as you
sit around the management table. Understanding the cycle of
finance will help you figure out where you fit into your
company’s financial structure. This financial management workshop will
familiarize you with the key concepts of finance and
accounting and help you prepare budgets with more
confidence.
What
participants will learn:
At the conclusion of this workshop, you should be able to:
-
Assess the
financial performance and health of your firm
-
Enhance your
decision-making skills by integrating financial management
concepts into your thinking
-
Understand the
budgeting process and forecasting techniques
-
Manage your own
budget, inventory and petty cash
Workshop
Outline:
As facilitator,
you have the option of using a variety of training methods
for each workshop. This includes large group discussions,
individual work and reflection, small group discussions &
exercises, case studies and simulations for role play.
Customization will be based on your own needs or information
provided by your human resource department or the individual
department prior to the workshop. Materials are designed as
interactive workshops with a 40/60 split between
concept/theory and practical application of skills
discussed. Class size should be kept under 20, whenever
possible, so each participant will have the opportunity to
gain techniques for the types of situations they deal with
or expect to deal with.
